Top Small Business Web Hosting Packages
Starting a small business involves many things coming together correctly–one of the things that every small business needs is a website. If you just need a simple blog engine, find some great, inexpensive WordPress Hosting. The following links also offer great packages to get your business up and running. You may know nothing about websites or buying small business web hosting, but if you need something to get started and don’t know where else to go–here’s a list of popular hosts that I’ve ranked according to reviews, experience, and features offered. Please note that these are links I’ve provided without the sponsorship of each company–meaning I was NOT paid to promote any of these companies. The links are affiliate links to the small business website hosting products and packages:
Top Small Business Website Hosting Packages:
- Hostmonster
: Hostmonster.com is currently my host for this and many of my clients’ websites. As a general host, they’ve provided everything I’ve needed and more–a cPanel, virtually unlimited email addresses, and tech support that rocks. Seriously–their support has helped me through some pretty crazy stuff, and most of the time, rather than just talking me through a solution, they’ll just do it for me!
- LunarPages: While I’ve heard that support can be a bit lacking, LunarPages offers a pretty solid small business package. Unlimited space/bandwidth/email addresses/etc. and a cool site builder. Also includes a cPanel–a must for small business owners.
- GoDaddy: GoDaddy is known for their domain name registrations, and I would recommend that you don’t do anything else with them besides that. I can’t find my way through their bogged-down cPanel/administrative sections, and I haven’t ever had a good time talking to their tech support. Since they’re so big, I’d bet that most of their problems resonate from that fact. If anyone has any opposing views, let me know–I’d be happy to hear from a happy customer!
- Network Solutions: If you plan on hosting numerous sites/domains under one umbrella, Network Solutions offers a more a la carte approach to the more common canned shared hosting site packages. While Network Solutions isn’t the cheapest, they’re definitely a good pick for a solid small business web host.
- Bluehost: I like Bluehost for one reason: they have a demo of their cPanel set up that shows you exactly what you’re going to get. However, they do require a 3-month minimum contract, and their prices can be a bit difficult to find. If you are okay with the contract specifications, Bluehost can be a great small business web hosting service for you and your business, especially if you’re just getting started.
All in all, these web host packages (identified by the banners) should give you something to start with for your small business. I’m planning on setting up a site to handle more in-depth reviews of small business web hosts, but until then, these should help you get your feet wet! Have a happy Thanksgiving!
